ERRATUM to “Intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the maxilla in a teenager: A case report and review of literature” [Oral Surg Oral Med Oral Pathol Oral Radiol Endod 100 (2005) E93-E96]

It has come to the attention of this Journal that the last two paragraphs of an article we published in 2005 (“Intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the maxilla in a teenager: A case report and review of literature. [Oral Surg Oral Med Oral Pathol Oral Radiol Endod 2005;100:e93-e96]) had parts that are essentially identical to a paper by Baj et al. that published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (JOMS), “Central mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the jaw in a teenager: A case report (JOMS 2002;60:207-211), which is cited as reference 15 in the article in question. The article in OOO also has unusual similarity to the Baj paper in structure, tables, and contents. After an investigation, it was determined that the OOO article plagiarized the earlier JOMS article, in violation of our publishing policies. However, it was decided that this was done without the intent to plagiarize, so the authors were warned about their error. Our Journal apologizes to the JOMS, our OOO readers, and to the authors of the Baj article.
